Charles was born in 1936 to Alfio and Louise Vacanti in Omaha, Nebraska.  

Chuck attended Creighton Prep high school and spent his college days at Creighton University. 

Along his journey, he also served in the Military.  Chuck spent his career as a traveling sales person for United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company (USF & G).   

On any given day you can find Chuck with his “Italian brothers” dining at Louie M’s, Sons of Italy or helping renovate the historic Santa Lucia hall. In April Chuck celebrated his 80th birthday and his family threw him a surprise party at the hall.  They worried that he would find out ahead of time because he has been known to unexpectedly drop by the hall to “check on things”.

Chuck’s hobbies include fishing, spending time with his children, grandchildren and dedicating his time to Santa Lucia.  When asked to describe the impact the festival has had on his life, family members say:  “It has given Chuck a new purpose, an identity, he is passionate about the people, the Saint and you kids”.  

In retirement Chuck enjoys being with his family more than anything else.  He is extremely proud of his two beautiful daughters and four amazing grandchildren. 

Chuck has been married to Joyce for 47 wonderful years.
